Daniel Mapa Obituary

Daniel was born December 3, 1976, to David and Janelle (Berryman) Mapa. He grew up in the Meadow Vista / Auburn Calif. area, but moved with his family at age twelve. He attended and graduated East High, in Salt Lake City, Utah, making many friends during those years.
As a child, Daniel was playful, happy, sensitive, compassionate and loving. As he grew, he retained all those character qualities but also grew to be a charming, vibrant, athletic, intelligent young man who loved life and loved his family beyond measure. He was always motivating friends and family to stretch their comfort zones, to try new things, and to laugh more; he also enjoyed playing match-maker for many of his buddies.
Daniel was preceded in death by his grandfathers Michael R. Mapa and Edward John Berryman and his step-father Alex Berryman-Nosik. He is survived by his fiancée Michelle DuBois; son Maddix Mapa and fiancée's daughter Mia DuBois of Salt Lake City; by his father & step-mother David & Roseann Mapa of Rough & Ready, Calif.; by his mother Janelle Berryman-Nosik of Grass Valley, Calif.; his brother Jeremy Mapa of Yerington, Nev.; his sister Cora Fritzinger (Jerehmy) of Auburn, Calif.; his step-sisters Shannon and Andrea Onstot; his step-brothers Alex "Chip" Nosik (Kim) of Klamath Falls, Ore., Kevin Nosik (Denise) of Denver, Colo., Thomas Nosik (Donne) and Robert Nosik of Crescent City, Calif.; his cousin Charity Mapa-Hendrickson (with whom he grew up, loved dearly, was very close to, and who was more like a sister to him than a cousin); his grandparents Dolores Mapa, of Colfax, Calif., and Dorothy and Richard Miller of Nevada City / Grass Valley, Calif.; as well as numerous beloved aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A memorial service will be held for Daniel onSaturday, March 26, 2016, at 11 a.m. at Faith Lutheran Church, 1115 Combie Road, Meadow Vista, CA, 95722. There will be a reception following the service at Christina's American Bistro, 1710 Placer Hills Road, Meadow Vista, CA, 95722.

My sincere and heartfelt sorrow at the loss of this sweet man, son, father, brother, fiancé, cousin, and friend. I know he was deeply loved and cherished by his family. I didn't personally know him, but I knew him through your wonderful family and of course through Cora and my son, Jerehmy, which spoke kindly and lovingly about him. I know he will live on in your hearts, in your thoughts, in your stories, and in his beautiful son, Madix. May God bless each and every one of you and comfort you through this time. I love you all!!!! 1 Corinthians 15:42-44 It is the same way with the resurrection of the dead. Our earthly bodies are planted in the ground when we die, but they will be raised to live forever. Our bodies are buried in brokenness, but they will be raised in glory. They are buried in weakness, but they will be raised in strength. They are buried as natural human bodies, but they will be raised as spiritual bodies. For just as there are natural bodies, there are also spiritual bodies. My prayers and love are with you.

Michelle gave me a pillow made from one of your favorite shirts. I will cherish it. Somehow seeing her, Mia and Maddix made this real. I miss you and love you more than I have the words to describe. I look forward to celebrating your life this weekend cousin.
