Doris Nutter Obituary

Doris Nutter
9/28/1919 - 2/17/2015

Doris Nutter 95, a longtime resident of Roseville, Calif., passed away on Tuesday, February 17, 2015.
Doris was born September 28, 1919 in Kearney, Nebr., she was the youngest of five children. She met her husband of over 50 years, Coyd Nutter and moved to Roseville, Calif., in 1938. They built their home in Roseville in 1950 and lived there until her death.
Doris worked for the City of Roseville for over 20 years. She was the den mother for the 1st Boy Scout troop in Roseville, Troop #8. Coyd and Doris traveled all over with their Good Sam's Club and she met frequently with a number of her friends at sewing club for over 20 years. She enjoyed frequent bus trips to Reno, BBQ's with neighbors and family gatherings during the holidays. She was also on a bowling team into her 90's.
Doris is survived by her son Dave Nutter and her loving grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Coyd and son Dick.
Dori Nutter was the epitome of the quote by Hunter S. Thompson: Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out and loudly proclaiming, "Wow! What a ride!" This is how she will be remembered. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Per her request, there will be no funeral service. There will be a Celebration of her Life for close friends and family on Thursday, March 5, 2015 from 1:00 to 3:00 pm at her home.

David & Vickie - I have great memories of your "Grandma Nutter" at the baseball field watching David coach, Vickie keep score and Jon play. Vickie would always share with me fun stories of adventures with Grandma Nutter. You are all very blessed to have wonderful memories of such an ambitious, loving, fun Grandma.

So sorry to hear of Doris' passing. I worked with Doris when she worked for the City of Roseville in the 70-80's. We shared the same building. I worked in the Roseville Police Dept. Doris always had a smile on her face so gracious in greeting everyone as we passed by her office. I also was friends with her x-daughter-in-law Stacy and Dick for a time. Doris will always be remembered for the kind, caring person she was. My condolunces to her family.

I am so sad to hear of Doris' passing. She was the last of the "Sewing Club Girls" that my mom was a "member" of for years. I always got such a kick out of Doris. I will always remember her smiling face. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family. She will be missed and always remembered.

Oh, Doris!
What a long and successful life you lived! Thanks for sharing so much of it with me! I will carry on the tradition of New Year's Eve jigsaw puzzles and think of you.
I know that only your body is gone and that you are still awake and aware as ever, and I want to wish you well in whatever adventure you choose now.
Go well, my friend. Be happy and continue to make others happy. Know that you are missed, and that when I think of you, I smile.
Love,
Sally
