AUBURN - Gloria E. Torres, age 90, of Auburn, N.Y., passed away on December 22, 2024, at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, N.Y., surrounded by family.

Gloria was born on November 25, 1934, in Puerto Rico. She later moved to Brooklyn, N.Y., as a young adult. She was employed in various jobs which she dedicated her time and efforts to. She started her family and raised her children in the city before later moving upstate, as her children grew older and expanded their own families. Gloria took pride in her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, and loved to take care of others. Gloria was well known for her kind, generous, and compassionate personality. She will be greatly missed by all of those who had the privilege of knowing her. In her leisure time, she enjoyed watching her favorite sports teams and game shows on television, cooking, and traveling to visit loved ones.

Gloria leaves to honor her memory her children and spouses, Victor (Julie) Rosario, Alberto (Diana) Rosario, Emilio (Beatriz) Barreto, Pauline (Orlando) DeJesus, Lourdes (Vincent) Fumarola, Roland Barreto, and Luz (Richard) Barreto Ramey; sister, Francisca Torres; sister-in-law, Susan S. Torres. Gloria also leaves behind many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews who adored her.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Maria Colon Mendez and Fancisco Torres Echevarria; her son, John Barreto; her brother, Luis Antonio Torres; and grandson, Emilio Barreto, III.

The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to friends for being by Gloria and the family's side throughout her life, and especially during this most difficult time.

On Saturday, January 11, 2025, a calling hour will be held at Farrell's Funeral Service, Inc., 84 South St, Auburn, N.Y., from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. A funeral service will be held at 12:15 p.m., with the Reverend Frank Lioi, Pastor of St. Mary's Church officiating. Interment will be held privately at St. Joseph's Cemetery.
