Mary Arlene Cuddy
AUBURN - Mary Arlene Cuddy, passed away on Friday, October 27, 2023, surrounded by her loving daughters.
Mary was the daughter of Leon G. and Mary Steele Cornall Miner.
She was pre deceased by her husband, Raymond Cuddy, Sr.
A graduate of Central High School, Nassau County College.
Her nursing career began at Wyckoff Heights Hospital, Brooklyn, NY as an Emergency Room Nurse. After returning to Auburn, she continued her education at Cayuga Community College and graduated with a Nurses degree.
She then worked as a Registered Nurse at Auburn Memorial Hospital, and retired from Auburn Correctional Facillty.
A resident of Schwartz Towers, and a communicant of St. Mary's Church. Also she was a member of the Catholic Daughters.
Her family was always her greatest joy. Mary loved traveling with them, including trips to Long Island, Las Vegas, Florida and Ireland Mary was proud of her Irish heritage. Her Irish wit was enjoyed by all.
An avid New York Yankees fan, her current prized possession was an autographed baseball by New York pitcher Gerrit Alan Cole.
Surviving are children: Anita Barfield (Donald), Long Island, NY, Rosemary Zwiesler (David), Las Vegas, NV; grandchildren: Donald Barfield (Kendra), Sara Kaplan (Adam), Ryan Zwiesler, Jeffery Zwiesler; great-grandchildren: Izabella, Ariana, Faith, Cassie,
Jordan, Madison; sister, Catherine Hrynyk; sister- in-law, Mariann Miner; nieces and nephews: Greg Hrynyk (Sue), Vickie Miner (Dave), George Miner, Josette Randall (Greg); and several cousins.
Mary was also pre-deceased by a daughter, Felicia Cerza, brother, George Miner, brother-in-law, Taras Hrynyk and nephews: Lawrence and Michael Hyrnyk.
The calling hours will be held at St. Mary's Church from 11:00 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. on Monday, November 6, 2023 followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church, at 1:00 p.m., with the Reverend Frank Lioi, Pastor as Celebrant. Entombment will be in St. Joseph's Mausoleum.
Memorial contributions may be remembered to St. Mary's Church, 15 Clark St., Auburn or to St. Peter & Paul Ukranian Church, 136 Washington St., Auburn, NY.
