Robert Cole Obituary

WEEDSPORT - Robert Erwin Cole, 72, of Gordonville, Tenn., died Sunday, Feb. 9, 2003, at Smith County Health Care Center, Carthage, Tenn.

Mr. Cole was born in Cato on Oct. 19, 1930, the son of the late Walter C. and Mertie Reva Walker Cole. He was a resident of Gordonsville, Tenn. since 1990, where he was a truck driver for several years. He was a member of the Tennessee Sheriff's Association. He was formerly of Lorraine and Cato, where he was a farmer for the family-owned Cole Farms.

He is survived by a sister, Doris Luella Mauro of Liverpool; a brother, Ernest Cole of Plattsburg; and nine nieces and nephews, Pamela Skinner, Beth Brewer, Mary Melice, Angel Mauro and David, Daniel, Michael, Carmen and Anthony Mauro.

He was predeceased by two brothers, Arthur and Bud Cole; and a nephew, Larry Mauro.

Family and friends are invited to a memorial service to be held 9 a.m. Saturday, March 15, at Jewell Funeral Homes Inc., 8886 S. Seneca St., Weedsport, with the Rev. James Carroll officiating. Interment will be in Spring Lake Cemetery, Conquest, in the spring.

If desired, contributions may be made to the Wilson City Animal Shelter, Lebanon, TN 37087.
