KING FERRY - Thomas C. May, 79, of King Ferry, passed away on June 23, 2024 in Auburn.
He was born on March 23, 1945 in Auburn, a son of the late Adrian and June (Hunt) May.
A graduate of King Ferry Central School, he had owned and operated May Contracting for 37 years. He was an avid bowler, evidenced as a member of the "700 Club" at King Ferry Lanes. Tom enjoyed crossword puzzles and was a member of the Elks.
He is survived by his wife, of 54 years, Linda (Huckabone) May; daughter, Robin Stephenson (Wayne); son, Christopher May (Mary); grandchildren: Amanda Weatherby (Brian), Jonathan, Jacob and Jordan Stephenson, Abigail Myers (Zack), Kaleb, Aiden and McKenna Stephenson and Jaxon May; great-grandsons: Owen and Gavin Weatherby; sisters: Connie Woodhouse and Charlene Wood (Robert); sister-in-law, Mary May; mother-in-law, Marion Campbell; and extended family.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Neal May, and a grandson, Joshua Stephenson.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, July 14, 2024 from 2:00-5:00 PM at Dugan's Country Grill, 3228 NY-34B, Scipioville. There are no prior calling hours.
Contributions, in lieu of flowers, are graciously directed to the King Ferry Fire Department, PO Box 419, King Ferry, NY 13081 or to Southern Cayuga Instant Aid (SCIA) Ambulance, PO Box 7, Poplar Ridge, NY 13139.
