AUBURN | William F. "Bill" Holihan Jr., 58, of North Street, Auburn, passed away Monday, Feb. 25, 2013, at Auburn Community Hospital, following a long illness.
Bill was born in Syracuse on Aug. 6, 1954, the son of Joan Crawford Holihan and the late William F. Holihan Sr. He was a member of the Armour of Light Baptist Church in Victory and a trustee of the church. Bill was an avid reader and history buff; he enjoyed watching old war movies and following politics. Bill was best known for his sense of humor, which he shared with everyone; even during his illness he would bring laughter to others.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Karen E. Adsit Holihan, with whom he would have celebrated his 16th wedding anniversary on June 21 of this year; his children, Chris Barnhart, Stacy Barnhart, and James Barnhart; his beloved grandchildren, Alexis Tanner, Kaytlynn Tanner, Logan Barnhart, and Alauna Guzewicz; his siblings, Tim Holihan, Russ Holihan, Mauli Tarala, and Sheila Boyle; his mother-in-law, Helen Foster; sister-in-law, Debbie Walter; brothers-in-law, David Adsit and Rick Groesbeck, and several nieces and nephews.
A Memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, March 1, at the Armour of Light Baptist Church, 11937 Route 38, Cato. There will be no calling hours.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of William F. Holihan Jr. may be made to the Armour of Light Baptist Church or the American Diabetes Association, PO Box 11454, Alexandria VA 22312.
