AUBURN - William P. Wilczek, 76, of Auburn, died Monday, June 24, 2019, at Auburn Community Hospital.
Bill was a native of Auburn, the son of the late William and Catherine Fedichconich Wilczek. He was a corrections officer, retiring from Auburn Correctional Facility in 1996. While working he was a member of the CERT Team and he was active in the corrections officers union, having served as a vice president and secretary. He was a communicant of SS. Peter and Paul Church, member of the Knights of Columbus, and the Ukrainian National Club. He enjoyed the outdoors, and was an avid hunter. Following his retirement he and his wife moved to Florida, where they spent 20 years before returning to Auburn. In Florida he spent his time as a delivery person and volunteering at Saint Katherine Drexel Church.
Surviving Bill is his wife, Judith Bates Wilczek; his daughters, Susan McLaughlin and Judith M. Wilczek (Doug Hamberger), both of Auburn; his sons, William P. Wilczek (Mikki), of Auburn, and Paul Wilczek, of Vandergrift, Pa. He is also survived by grandchildren, Luke Abraham, Chelsea, Makenzie, Patrick, Ronin, Maverick, Tyler, Ashlee, and Britany; his sister, Kathleen (Tom) Goodelle, of Auburn; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Bill will be at 10 a.m. Monday, July 1, in SS. Peter and Paul Church. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Friends are invited to call from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Plis Funeral Home, 220 State St., Auburn.
