Alice Shuford

AUGUSTA, Ga. - Alice Erbelding Shuford, 83, entered into rest on Sunday, February 2, 2014 at Kentwood Nursing Home. A mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:00 AM today, Wednesday, February 5, 2014 at St. Mary on the Hill Catholic Church with Rev. Thomas Murphy serving as celebrant. Interment to follow in Westover Memorial Park. Mrs. Shuford was a lifelong member of St. Mary on the Hill where she served on the Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament Committee. She was also a sustaining member of the Junior League of Augusta, a member of the Richmond County Historical Society, and the Augusta Country Club. Mrs. Shuford was a retired employee from Macy's Department Store. Mrs. Shuford is survived by her son, William Stuart Shuford (Jennifer Kearns Shuford); her daughters, Alice McAuliffe Shuford, Ruth Shuford Pirkle (Joshua Franklin Pirkle, Jr.), and Rosemary Erbelding Shuford; and by her grandchildren, Henry Stuart Shuford and Anna Bridget Shuford. Pallbearers will be Preston Layton Scoggins, III, William Andrew Hundley, III, Wayne Fuller, Paul Edward Morgan, William A. Kearns, and Wayne Reddish.
