Carlton Webber Obituary

Retired U.S. Army AUGUSTA, Ga. - Entered into rest on Friday, May 6, 2005, at his residence, 1SG Carlton Lee "Pete" Webber, 67, of Augusta. Mr. Webber was a native of Virginia, lived in the Augusta area since 1974, was retired from the U.S. Army after 21 years, and a Baptist. Family members include his mother, Clara Gilmore Webber of Appling; daughters, Raelene Marie and her husband, Bill Vautrin, of Evans, Janis Webber Barnes of Martinez, Carly Teresa Webber of Grovetown; son, Jon Eric Webber of Augusta; sisters, Arlene and husband, Jack Norris, of Martinez, Sharyn and husband, Dick Pifer, of Appling; brother, Richard and wife, Pam Webber of Sylvester; and six grandchildren, Krystal Webber, Will Vautrin, Newt Barnes, Alexis Barnes, Gabriella Webber and Rayna Vautrin. Funeral services will be held Monday, May 9, 2005, at 6:00 PM in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with Rev. Wayne Bruner officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Homeless Veterans, Voluntary Services, ATTN: Ann Arnold, 1 Freedom Way, Augusta, GA, 30904 Thomas Poteet and Son Funeral Directors, 214 Davis Rd., Augusta, GA, 30907, (706-364-8484).
