Clifford Williams Obituary

LOUISVILLE, Ga. - Mr. Clifford Williams, 73, the son of the late Sam and Queen P. Williams, entered into rest Monday, December 8, 2003 at Glendale Nursing Home. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 10, 2003 at 1 p.m. at Waldens United Methodist Church with Rev. Marvin Goodman and Rev. Ed Deen officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. tonight at the funeral home or at Janice and Algie Snider's residence 1494 Hadden Pond Road, Avera. Mr. Williams was a native of Jefferson County, a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, and also attended Waldens United Methodist Church. He was a retired bus driver for Jefferson County and a retired farmer. He was a member of the VFW-Harlem Post 6445. He is preceded in death by his brother, Jessie Williams. Survivors include his loving wife of fifty years, Peggy; two sons, Wayne Williams, Louisville, Paul Williams, Newnan; one daughter, Janice an d her husband Algie, Avera; four brothers, Cecil Williams, Joe Williams, both of Augusta, Kenneth Williams, Keysville, Buford Williams, Gibson; three sisters, Sarah Duggan and Mary Hall of Augusta and Margaret Payton, Texas; three grandchildren, Matthew K. Snider, Daniel A. Snider and Wayne 'Little Wayne' Williams. Honorary Pallbearers are John Clark, Jefferson County School Bus Drivers and members and Auxiliary of VFW Post 6445. Pallbearers will be Grady Means, Joe Davis, Jerry Foss, Leon Peebles, Wayne Smith, Steve Sheram, Fay Hadden, and Robert Rabun.
