Kyle Smiley Obituary

LEXINGTON, S.C. - Funeral services for Kyle Anthony Smiley, 52, will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Monday, March 7, 2016 at Radius Church, Lexington, with burial to follow at 2:00 p.m. in Bellevue Memorial Gardens, Grovetown, GA. Pallbearers will be Kaleb and Kevin Smiley, Tony and David Langhan, Steve Swift and Mike Hanley. Honorary Pallbearers will be Matthew and Seth Jordan, Chris Seeby, Richard Lindler, Jimmy McDaniel, Jimmy Summers, Gary Reese and Timmy Thigpen. Visitation will be 5-7:00 p.m. Sunday at Barr-Price Funeral Home and Crematorium, Lexington Chapel. Kyle died Saturday, March 5, 2016 after a long courageous battle with cancer. He was the son of the late James A. Smiley and the late Faye Greer Smiley. He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Claudia (Warren) Smiley, three children, Kaleb Smiley, Kacie Smiley, and Kyla DeAngelo and one granddaughter, Layla DeAngelo. Kyle was a Christian and loved Jesus deeply. He grew up in Harlem, Georgia, and was impacted by; and a member of Philadelphia United Methodist Church, Harlem, Georgia. For the past 13 years, Kyle and his family have made their home in Lexington, S.C. and worshiped at Radius Church Lexington. He greatly loved his children and enjoyed watching their athletic activities. He loved the outdoors, riding his tractor, hunting and fishing. His heart was to always help and serve others. Kyle was a project manager with road construction, also a proud member of the Sons of the Confederacy. The Smiley family would like to thank everyone for their many prayers and tremendous support. My husband, Bruce, and Kyle became friends while Kyle was working on Platt Springs Rd. widening. Kyle was a great friend to us. Bruce died in May, 2013 and I had heard that Kyle was ill. He always said he wanted to go home to Georgia and now he has.
