Letitie Widvey Obituary

Homemaker AUGUSTA, Ga. - Entered into rest, Tuesday, December 18, 2007 at Lake Crossing Nursing Home, Mrs. Letitie Mary Widvey, 84, wife of the late Arnold Henry Widvey. Mrs. Widvey was a native of Limerick, Ireland but lived in London during WWII. She lived through the German Blitzkrieg where she met her future husband. She assisted in the war effort by working in a factory while her fiancŽ was on a B-17. She was married in London and moved to America in 1945. She has lived in the Augusta area since 1959. She was a homemaker and a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church where she was active in the Women's Guild, choir, and was a former Sunday school teacher. She was a loving mother and grandmother, a member of the greatest generation, and always was a true leprechaun. Family members include her daughter: Alana Widvey Powell and her husband Tim of Martinez, Ga.; sons: Liam Arnold Widvey and wife Geri of Aiken, SC.; son: the late Arvid A. Widvey of Kenosha, WI; grandchildren: Daniel Powell, Jesse Widvey, Svend A. Widvey.; sister: Regina Dallymore of London, England. Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 21, 2007 at 11:00 at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church with Pastor Carl A. Voges officiating. The family will receive friends following the graveside service at Bellevue Memorial Gardens.
