Lloyd T. Watts Jr.

U.S.A.F., Retired GROVETOWN, Ga. - Entered into rest after a short illness on December 19, 2007 at his residence, Colonel Lloyd T. Watts, Jr., 63, leaves his wife, Donna Watts. He is also survived by his sons, Airman 1st Class Matthew Watts of Fort Meade, Md. and Michael Watts of Grovetown. Colonel Watts was born in Peekskill, N.Y. He held a BS in Business from the University of Florida and a MBA from Golden Gate College. A Vietnam Veteran, Mr. Watts retired from the U.S.A.F. in 1997 after serving 30 years. He was the recipient of the Defense Superior Service Medal. He had lived in Grovetown for the past two years. For the past 5 years, he was employed by Georgia Tech as a Procurement Assistance Center procurement counselor in the Augusta office. An avid golfer, Mr. Watts had rated golf courses for Golf Digest. He had played many of the major golf courses in the U.S. as well as Scotland. He was a member of St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church. A memorial service, including Military Honors, will be held Wednesday, December 26, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Thomas Poteet and Son. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church, 4921 Columbia Rd., Grovetown, Ga. 30813 or Trinity Hospice, 2260 Wrightsboro Rd., Augusta, Ga. 30904.
