I just found out TODAY that Lucille Floyd "Aunt Lucille" had transition I am terribly sorry to hear of such, but know to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. Aunt Lucille was a integrate part of my musical career. She would visit with my family often and would have such a wealth of knowledge and always spoke the truth. Love you "Aunt Lucille"

We are deeply saddened by the death of your mother/grandmother. You are in our thoughts and fervent prayers. We know that she loved you dearly and that you also loved her. We also share the love Mrs. Floyd demonstrated very freely to all with whom she interacted. Her unprecedented and unparalleled commitment to family, church, and community provides a model for replication. We know that our Lord and Savior was waiting with open arms for her saying Well done my good and faithful servant. Welcome home.
With sincere sympathy and our love,
The Wallace Family

Mrs. Lucille Floyd was a "preaching" teacher who instilled high moral values and a sense of civic responsibility to her students and her fellow teachers. I will always remember her for her high spirit and caring personality. Rest in peace.

When I was right out of college I had the honor and privilege of teaching across the hall from Mrs. Floyd at Peter H. Craig School. Although we taught different grade-levels, she became a mentor by taking me, a permanent substitute teacher during the second semester, under her wings to ensure that I understood the expectations of teaching. She shared resources, wisdom, and yes, some of her mother wit.
May the family take comfort in knowing that Mrs. Floyd touched many lives through her students as well as her peers.
