Robert Jeffcoat Obituary

AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mr. Robert 'Bob' Jeffcoat, age 61, of Augusta entered into rest on Tuesday morning, September 14, 2004 at Augusta Hills Nursing Home. A native of Augusta, Bob had been a lifelong resident of Augusta, except for a short time in the mid 1970s in Hollywood, Fla. An avid History buff, he enjoyed reading, researching and watching any account on historical topics, including; Civil War history and the history of Augusta. He had worked for a number of years as a Boy Scout executive overseeing the Richmond and Aiken County Districts. He was a longtime member of Asbury United Methodist Church where he had taught the Sunshine Sunday School Class. His family will remember his enjoyment of Carpentry and working with his hands. He is survived by one son, Robert Bomar Jeffcoat, Maui, Hawaii; one daughter, Juliette 'Julie' Lenna Jeffcoat, Dania, Fla.; his parents, Mr. Henry B. and Lois Jeffcoat, North Augusta, S. C.; one sister, Henriann Walpole and her husband, Doug, North Augusta, S. C.; two grandchildren, Robert John Jeffcoat, Mikel Kelly Hovey; two nieces and one nephew. Memorial services will be held Friday, September 17, 2004, 2 p.m. at Asbury United Methodist Church, with Reverend Randy Monk, officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday, September 16, 2004 from 6 - 8 p.m. at Elliott Sons Funeral Home, 1134 Telfair Street. Sign the guestbook at AugustaChronicle.com

WE ARE SO SORRY TO HEAR OF BOB'S PASSING AND SO SORRY WE DIDN'T KNOW ABOUT IT EARLIER. WE FOUND OUT ABOUT IT AT THE BIRD REUNION SUNDAY, EVERY ONE WAS SADDENED BY THE NEWS, HE ALWAYS ENJOYED IT AND CONTRIBUTED SO MUCH TO IT EACH YEAR. HE WILL BE REALLY MISSED.
