Wayne M. Eckenrode

U.S. Army Retired MARTINEZ, Ga. - Mr. Wayne M. Eckenrode, 53, entered into rest on Friday, January 4, 2008 at Heartland Hospice. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 8, 2008 at 3:00 p.m. in the Platt's Funeral Home, Belair Road Chapel, with Reverend Yong Sung Lee and Reverend Yong Geol Lee officiating. Graveside services with full Military Honors, by the U.S. Army, will follow at Bellevue Memorial Gardens. Mr. Eckenrode was retired from the U.S. Army having attained the rank of Sergeant First Class. He was an auxiliary officer with the Columbia County Sherriff's Department, was formerly employed with K-Mart as a Loss Prevention Manager and was an active member of the Augusta Korean Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Quintin T. and Louise Benden Eckenrode; and two brothers, George and Chuck Field. He is survived by his wife, Yong Sun Eckenrode; daughters, Denise A. Eckenrode and Angela L. Eckenrode; granddaughter, Abigail L. Eckenrode, all of Martinez; step- mother, Jo Anne Addison, of Edgewood, Md.; sisters, Margie Nigrin and Lynn Hannan, both of Baltimore, Md. and Dawn Hines, of Chicago, Ill. The family will receive friends this evening, Monday, January 7, 2008 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Platt's Funeral Home, Belair Road.
