Daniel VanDeventer Obituary

Daniel L. "Danny" VanDeventer, age 82, of Oswego, IL, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Sunday, January 21, 2024 at Sharp Memorial Hospital in San Diego, CA. He was born on December 3, 1941 in Aurora, IL the son of Wilbur C. and Frances A. nee (Sadler) Marzolf VanDeventer.

Dan graduated from Kaneland High School in Maple Park, IL. Dan proudly served in the US Air Force from 1960 to 1968. Following his honorable discharge, he owned and operated Danny's The One Stop, Inc. and Danny's Inc. Squeezer Division. In his spare time he enjoyed golfing and watching football.

He is survived by his daughter Susan Coffey of San Diego, CA, a brother Bruce (Sharon) VanDeventer of Flippin, AR, sister Pat Ingrum of New Concord, KY and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, step mother Jessie Van Deventer, wife Celia VanDeventer, brother Tom VanDeventer and sister Debbie Hull.

Visitation will take place on Saturday, February 3, 2024 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at DUNN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME with CREMATORY 1801 S. Douglas Road, Oswego, IL 60543. A graveside service with full military honors will follow at Riverside Cemetery, 414 North River Street, Montgomery, IL 60538. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, TN 38105 or Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, KS 66675-8516.
