Jewell Fisher Obituary

Jewell Mae Fisher (Berryman) Age 95, of Tonganoxie, formerly of Kansas City, Kansas passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 9, 2010 surrounded by loving family members. She was born on April 7, 1915 in Keytesville, Missouri, the daughter of the late Thomas Alva and Bertha Berryman. Jewell was a devoted wife to her husband Jess E. Fisher for 58 years until he passed on December 16, 1992. She was the loving mother of two sons, Jess E. Fisher Jr. of Tonganoxie, and Jerry W. Fisher (Donna) of Bonner Springs and one daughter, Shirley (John) Roesch of Aurora, Illinois. She is also survived by two sisters, Treva Frances of California and Gloria Davis of Texas. Six grandchildren: Jeff Fisher (Sherry) of Basehor, Julie Yates of Tonganoxie, Shawna (Cam) Robinson of Wann, Oklahoma, and Diane (Steve) Oros. Steve (Jeanne) Roesch and Susan (Byron) Cunningham all of Aurora, IL. She leaves behind 14 great-grandchildren and two great-great-granddaughters. Besides her family, Jewell loved fishing, travel and good food. She was a wonderful cook and was always sharing abundant meals with family and friends. She will be missed by many. Graveside services were held on Monday, September 13, at 1:30 p.m. at the Chapel Hill Cemetery, 701 94th Street. The family wants to thank the doctors, nurses and staff of the Kansas City Hospice for their compassion and care of our loved one. Memorials made be made to the Kansas City Hospice House, 12000 Wornall Road, Kansas City, MO 64145.
