Luis Meneses Obituary
It is with great sadness that the family of Luis Meneses announces his passing after a long, courageous battle with cancer on October 27th at the age of 66. Many will remember Luis as a teacher from East Aurora School District #131 where he was nominated Kane County Teacher of the Year. He enjoyed a long and distinguished career. Luis was born in Venezuela and came to the U.S. in 1978 to learn English, further his education and explore a new country. Luis followed his passions, whether it was working toward a Masters in Special Education, learning about electronics and building his own circuit boards to run Christmas lights. Other passions included painting and writing poetry and novels. His pride and joy were his children, Michael, Michelle and Laurie. He enjoyed going out to breakfast and became a regular at many restaurants in Aurora and Montgomery. He will be remembered by many in these communities. A Mass in memory of Luis will be held on Saturday, December 2 at 1:00 pm at Our Lady of Good Council Catholic Church, 620 5th Street, Aurora. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Aurora Animal Shelter, 630-256-3630 or Misericordia, 773-973-6300To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.

My he rest in peace.

I met Luis through my sister Rita Vincent who was his next door neighbor at Anderson Farms. He was the kindest, most gentle man I have ever met and it was pure joy to be around him. I will miss him and his ever present smile. He was looking forward to being with his mom and the angels and I pray he is now basking in the warmth of the arms of Jesus and being exactly where he wanted to be, enjoying the presence of his mom and his beloved angels. RIP, sweet, gentle man.
