Manfred Lorenz Obituary

Manfred Lorenz (Fred) PaPa Manfred "Fred" Lorenz, 79, of Jamaica formerly of Yorkville, passed away peacefully April 1, 2010. Fred was born April 8, 1930 in Germany. As a young man he served in the merchant marines. He immigrated to the United States in 1954 and resided in Aurora and Yorkville. Fred retired from the Burlington Northern Railroad after 30 years. He was an active member of the Third Ward Club in Aurora. In his free time, he enjoyed golfing at the Cederdell Golf Course in Plano, and visiting his beloved vacation home "On the Sea" in Runaway Bay, Jamaica to where he eventually retired. His parents, two brothers, Paul and Werner, and the mother of his children, Mary Lorenz, precede him in death. He is survived by his sons, Manfred (Dominique) Lorenz, Eric (Julie) Lorenz; the Mother of his stepchildren, Elisabeth Lorenz; His stepchildren, Ingrid Sikich, Marian (Lou) Popp, Michael (Monika) Neumaier; His precious grandchildren, Rebecca, Sean Paul, Brianna, Zachary, Nicholas, Deidre, Louis-Michael, Alex, Megan, Maddie, and Mackai; His precious great grandchildren, Joshua, Valerie, Jacob, Mayson, Kamdyn, and Brooke; His sisters, Rosemary and Erika of Germany; His very special friends, Rich and Doris Frauenfelder, Hershel Smith, and many friends in Jamaica. Fred will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him. Services to be announced.
