Thomas Popplewell Obituary
Thomas was employed for many years by AT&T in Montgomery, IL. He attended St. Mary's Catholic Church in Plano, IL.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Carole Anne (Vecchia) Popplewell of Russell Springs, KY; his son, Timothy Ray (Robyn) Popplewell; his grandchildren, Taylor, Austin, and Ashley Popplewell, all of Yorkville, IL; his sisters, Ann Daniel and Mimi Popplewell, both of Russell Springs, KY; six brothers, Orvin Popplewell of Kentucky, Carson Popplewell of Florida, Bobby Popplewell of Kentucky, Spencer Popplewell of North Carolina, Dean Popplewell of California, and Jerry Popplewell of Illinois; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ted and Jennie Popplewell; his daughter, Lisa Marie Popplewell; and his brother, Ollis "Okie" Popplewell.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, June 20, 2008 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 901 N. Center St., Plano, IL, with Father Matthew Lamoureux, M.I.C. officiating. Interment will follow in the St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery, Bristol, IL. Friends may visit from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Thursday, June 19, 2008, and again from 9:00 am until the hour of service on Friday, June 20, 2008 at the Larson-Nelson Funeral Home, 1010 W. South St., Plano, IL. Arrangements by Nelson Funeral Homes & Crematory, (630) 552-7211.
