June Linda Phillips

1955 - 2020

June Phillips, 65 died at the home of William Phillips in Boardman, Ohio, Monday, December 21, 2020. June was born April 1, 1955 in Baltimore, Maryland the daughter of Edward and Doris (Millin) McConnell. She lived in Essex, Maryland and came to Boardman to celebrate Thanksgiving and Christmas with her family. She loved and was loved by her neighbors John Scott, Joyce 'Joy' McClellan, Joyce Brunner and family, Debbie Francis, Maria and Tony Silvestri and their son Xavier, special friends Penny Willie, her friend since childhood, Hugh Devlin and many others. Her great passion was being a nurse at Howard County General Hospital in Columbia, Maryland and Fuller Medical Center in Rosedale, Maryland. She loved taking care of people and animals. On March 1981 she was introduced to William Phillips by David and Judy Howett on a blind date in Columbia, Maryland. Later that year, they were married at Lowellville Christian Church in Lowellville, Ohio on November 21, 1981. June prayed for a child and on December 21, 1982 her prays came true giving birth to her son Marc.

June is survived by her only son Marc Phillips of Boardman, Ohio and his fiancée Krisalyn Jackson, brothers Wayne McConnell of Baltimore, Maryland, Edward McConnell of Moravian Falls, North Carolina, her former husband William Phillips of Boardman, Ohio and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and nieces Stephanie McConnell Philippe in 2014 and Barbara McConnell Dowell and her daughter Kayla Dowell in 1994.

June will be sadly missed by her friends and cats, especially her cat Puddin. Those she touched will never forget her. Per her wishes she was cremated at Lane Niles Chapel funeral home in Niles, Ohio.
