Williston - It is with tremendous sadness that we announce the passing of Sean Russell Luce at his home in Williston, N.D.
Sean is survived by his mother Kathleen Elliot and his stepfather Jack, his sisters Colleen Garnes and husband Matthew, Kristina Schaefer and her husband Edwin. He will be missed by six nieces and nephews and four great nieces and nephews who say he was the coolest uncle there was. He was preceded in death by his father, Norman Russell Luce.
Sean grew up in Littlerock, Calif. but throughout his life Sean pursued his passions and was not one to stay in one place for long, ultimately landing in the oil fields of North Dakota.
Sean lived his life his own way, performing a wide range of professions, including nuclear science in the US Navy, information technologist for internet startups, personal security for high-profile celebrities and most recently as the owner of Donald Franklin LLC, a trucking company named after his two cats.
Sean was also a perpetual student and hobbyist, mastering world history, astronomy, photography, model building and was pursuing sailing and cooking.
Sean was an extremely intelligent and imaginative person who studied and could speak authoritatively on almost any subject, tell interesting and hysterical stories and had a soft spot for cats.
Sean, you were one-of-a-kind. We will always carry your memory in our hearts.
