I loved this man and still remember the hot, hot dog gum from his meat shop my mom would buy us when we would go there. He always had us laughing and was always so fun with my children. Even when we saw him on his mission, he made our visit so very fun. So sorry for your loss Jayne. I wanted to be there to hug you and let you know I love you. Kandee Baldwin

We net Newt when our daughter married his step-son Marty. Immediately he made us feel welcome into his circle with his laughter and joy that radiated from him. Love to Newt and family. Cheri Gagon

Jayne, You have been, and will remain in my prayers. So many people will miss Newt, but nobody will miss him like you will. What a beautiful obituary, and what a lucky man he was to have found you! Susan and I won't be able to make it to the services, but our thoughts will be with you. Love, David (the one with no shoes)

I first met Newt at his meat market on Main and Lazona. My husband would get his haircut next door while I bought our meat for the week. Newt always had many interesting stories and was so very outgoing.

Going forward some years, my daughter Amy marries Mike Demke and, yes, Newt takes the wedding photos, not a bad one in the lot.

We used to run into Newt having lunch with Jayne at the sandwich shop on Stapley and he was always the same, happy go lucky.

Newt was a Mesa "fixture" to me and a true friend to my daughter's in-laws. He and his friend Jim fought the battle together and now Newt's battle is over, he has achieved victory over this dread disease.

Jayne and family, I know you have tons of beautiful memories to sustain you in this time of bereavement. He was a good man.

Always a friend to those in need. I worked with Newt at the meat packing plant in Lehi and then at Wrights Market when it was on Broadway and McDonald.
Will always remember his kindness

/we will all miss Newt and the fun he always created for us all. We have so many videos and pictures to remember our awesome experiences. Newt was a guy full of energy and spunk and fun. I remember the hikes at Lake Powell and all the near death experience with the House Boat. We will miss his laugh and smile. Love you Jayne
