Alma Sitter Obituary
87, of Phoenix, passed away peacefully on October 27, 2014. She was born in Erie, PA on January 17, 1927, the 2nd child of Joseph and Delphine (a member of the Seneca Indian Tribe). Alma married Albert J. Sitter on August 12, 1948, a union that lasted 60 years. They moved from Pennsylvania to Arizona in 1963. After being a full time homemaker for 14 years, Alma completed an Associate's Degree while working as a draftsperson for Honeywell in the Valley and retired in 1985. In retirement, she and her husband vacationed in Hawaii several times a year. Alma is survived by 4 children: Diane McKechnie, Tere Lange, Frank Sitter and Joe Sitter; 3 grandchildren: Weston, Falisa and Molly; and 3 great grandchildren: Jaden, Rogan and Aria. A celebration of Alma's life will be held on Saturday, November 1, 2014 at Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home, 4800 E. Indian School Road, Phoenix with visitation at 2:00pm and a funeral service at 3:00pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E. Flower Street, Phx., AZ 85014.

I have known Alma since 1977 when I became her dental hygienist. She was a kind, sweet person. My condolenses go to her family. She is with her loving husband Al now. I will always rmemeber her sweet smile.

Mrs. Sitter was such a wonderful woman and she will be missed. Tere and I have been friends since the 5th grade. Mrs. Sitter was like my second Mom growing up. I have such wonderful memories. My condolences to the family. Beverly Lorts Bertrand

Alma was a great sister-in-law and a wonderful caregiver. She helped raise my husband, her brother, cared for her step-mother in later years and cared so sweetly for her husband, Al, in his last days. We shared good times at Soup N Salad Restaurant, and shopping at Ross. I will miss her sweet smile and hugs. Her children were so good to her and took such good care of her in her last days.
