Andy, dear Andy…

We miss you so much.

The sound of your laughter…

The warmth of your touch.

They said it’be easier…

As each day turns to night.

They said it won’t hurt as much…

That we’d be alright.

Three years have passed…

Since that frightful night.

Three years have passed…

But it’s still not right.

It all repeats, in my mind…

Over and over again.

Every word, every thought…

They repeat.. again, and again.

It’s as if I could wish…

That the outcome would change.

But the beginning’s the same…

And so is the end.

It all repeats, in my mind…

Over and over again.

Every word, every thought…

They repeat.. again, and again.

We love you, dear Andy…

Nothing has changed.

Everything’s different…

But nothing has changed.

Rest in Peace, dear Andy…

You’re in God’s place.

And all in good time…

We’ll again see your face.

We’ll laugh...

We’ll cry…

We’ll be together again…

Then, it won’t hurt…

Only then, we’ll be alright.

…with Love, from Mom and Dad…

Why couldn’t it be Me?
Why couldn’t God see?
Why did God call Your Name?
Why couldn’t it be Me?

You were Young and Strong..
You had Two Boys to Raise.
For all I care, my Work is Done..
I’ve done my job, I’ve had my Days.

No one ever said it would be Fair,
No one ever said it would make Sense.
I don’t know what God had in Mind,
But His Will is Done, and we’re left to Carry On.

We’ll Cherish your Name, and Memory,
We’ll watch over your Sons, you’ll see.
We’ll be together gain, there is no Doubt!
By why, Dear God, couldn’t it have been Me?

We miss the way you used to Say..

We miss you, every Day.

We miss you, Andy,

In our Hearts and in our Mind,

We miss you Andy, all the Time.

A Second Year has Passed,

Since we’ve seen you Last.

Every Thing in our Lives has Changed,

And yet, in a way, everything’s the Same.

We think of You each and every Day,

And we try to find the Words to Say.

Our Hearts are Broken, They won’t Mend,

There are no Words to Comfort, nor Comprehend.

Time passes, slowly – quickly, it’s all the Same,

If I could hear your Voice when I cry your Name..

We’re numb, we still can’t Understand,

Why the Lord would take your Hand.

Your Sons are growing, Big and Strong,

Nick loves school, and Zach won’t take long.

Our little Family, it’s not the Same,

But before too long, We’ll be Together Again.

God Bless You, and Keep You,

Rest in Peace.

We Love You, forever..

Little did we know, that morning,

that God would call your name.

In life, we loved you dearly,

in death, we do the same.

It broke our hearts to lose you,

but you did not go alone.

A part of us went with you,

the day God called you home.

You left us many memories,

your love is still our guide.

And though we cannot see you,

We know you’re always by our side.

Our family chain is broken,

and nothing seems the same.

But as God calls us, one by one,

the chain will link again.

A year has passed.. so slowly..

Our Hearts are broken still..

We Miss you more than Words can say..

Tears well up, and flow, at will.

One more Hug..

One more Laugh..

One more Chance to see you Smile..

One more Story..

One more Visit..

These will have to wait, a While.

Please watch over Us.. and Guide Us..

Grant Us Patience.. Strength, and Time..

So we can See young Nicholas and Zachary

Grow up to be true Gentle Men, like Thee.

Who knows what Plans lay ahead for Us?

Who knew the Tragedy you Faced?

So, until that Day.. When we Meet again, Dear Andy..

We Pray God keep you.. May you Rest in Peace, my Son..

And we’ll Cherish your Memory, forever, with all our Love.

To the Kunka Family,

From High School to present day, I will always remember Andy as the kind soul who always tried to keep the peace between the rest of us. I called him a friend and consider myself a better individual for having known him. I will always smile when I think of Andy, his wonderful family and the special times we shared coming of age.

Andy was a close friend to both of my brothers, Jim and Jerry. During high school, the three of them were always together along with the rest of their group - Matt, Skene, Mookie, Brandon and Scott are the ones I remember. All of them were often at my house where I could watch them at the distance that younger sisters were allowed to be. Even back then, anyone could see the fierce loyalty and love they all had for each other. It was funny though how they showed it by punching each other. Really.

Andy isn't just remembered now, he's been remembered over the years since high school. I have my own memories of him along with some incredibly funny stories that I've heard from my brothers. The memories are great but there just aren't enough of them now.

I can only imagine how much my sense of loss would have to be magnified to equal that felt by the loss of a husband, a father, a son, a brother, a best friend. My deepest condolences go out to those people who were lucky enough to have loved Andy.
