Ann Savin-Butcher

Ann Savin-Butcher, entered into rest on January 28, 2006. Born in Oneonta, AL on August 26, 1941, she was the second oldest of seven children. She graduated valedictorian of her High School class at Susan Moore High School in 1959. She then moved to Pasadena, CA to attend the Ambassador College where she graduated with a B.A. degree in Theology. While attending Ambassador College, she met and married Gerald Savin with whom she had two children. She worked as a secretary and office manager for an insurance company while raising the children. She and Gerald were divorced in 1983. Later she married James Butcher, an entrepreneur. Together they created and successfully ran a number of companies dealing with everything from healthcare to gold mining. They lived in Flagstaff, AZ., Las Vegas, NV. and most recently Anthem, AZ. here they owned a nursing temp agency. She was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in April, 2005. Never complaining, she fought this disease head on. It finally claimed her life on January 28, 2006. Ann loved to live life to its fullest. She had been very active and frequently enjoyed such outdoor activities as bicycling, hiking, and jogging. She loved to travel, collect knick-knacks and play games. She will be remembered by all as a very caring and fun-loving person. Ann is survived by her husband, James, children, Jeff (Debi) Savin and Cheryl Booth, grandchildren, Jacki, Andy, Phillip, Ben and Daniel Savin, and Tara Savin, and Zach Booth. She is also survived by her siblings; Conray Jennings, Marie Mansanarez, Carl Jennings, Jerald Jennings, Gayla Brockman and Bonita Ballew. Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 3, 2006 at 2 PM at the Fellowship Church in Anthem, located at 39905 N. Gavilan Peak Parkway. Friends may gather one hour prior to the funeral service. She will be buried at the Mt. Moriah Cemetery, Oneonta, Alabama. Arrangements by Phoenix Memorial Park & Mortuary.
