During the Depression, my parents, James and Marguerite Brennan, drove to El Paso from Grand Rapids MI looking for work. They stayed with Barry's parents (Mabel was my dads Sister) while my Dad scratched out a living as a bricklayer for a few years, before moving back to Grand Rapids when the economy improved. The Webber's visited Grand Rapids many times for the Brennan family reunions as I was growing up.

While living with the Webber's in El Paso, my Father developed a taste for hot peppers. Over the years, Barry and his brother Jim continued to raise hot peppers as competition. They had to each each others peppers, year after year, regardless of how blistering hot they were.

The brothers shared this story, and many more, when we gathered in 2005 to celebrate "Uncle Jim's" (my Dad) potential Centennial Birthday celebration (Dad died in 1976) . It was great fun. It was also the last time we saw our cousins Barry and Jim together. We will miss them both immensely.

Barry Webber was my friend and mentor at the City of Chandler. As a result of Barry's financial management Chandler was able to grow into the great City it is today. He was creative and would always find a way to get things done. I still smile when I think of all the laughs we had and his leadership, guidance and support in my professional development and career. To Noreen and his entire family, he will be greatly missed but will never be forgotten as he left a great legacy with his accomplishments in Chandler. My heart goes out to all of his family in this difficult time.

Barry was my boss for approximately thirteen years from 1982 to 1995. He was a very approachable and personable individual. I will never forget when I first interviewed with him and how comfortable the interview was. I greatly enjoyed working with Barry, respected his management style and his sense of humor. I wish Noreen and all of Barry's sons and extended family my sincere condolences in Barry's passing.
