Carol Biddle Obituary

Biddle, Carol Lee
69, of Peoria, AZ passed away on March 17, 2014 shortly before turning 70 years old. She was born in Longmont, Colorado on April 26, 1944 and raised the middle child of Bernice (Lee) and Laurence Powell. After marrying Larwill Biddle on August 15, 1964, they moved to Connecticut where she became a Navy wife and gave birth to two sons. Carol's mettle emerged here as she had two young sons far from home while Larwill was out on submarine tours for 6 months at a time. The young family returned to Colorado in 1968 to run the family dairy farm. They celebrated the birth of their third son in 1973 and then moved the dairy to warmer weather in Arizona shortly thereafter. She was known to run the dairy store and care for her family and their home while meticulously keeping the dairy's books and helping to round up the occasional loose bull. Following the sale of the dairy in 1986, Carol went to work for the Peoria Unified School District where she made use of her particular attention to detail in various positions at the district office and Centennial High School from where she retired in 2004. Before her illness, she spent her retirement traveling with her husband, spending time with the many friends she made over the years, visiting family, and doting on her grandchildren, all of whom she deeply adored. Throughout her illness, she never missed a chance to tell each family member that she loved them. She will be dearly missed. She is survived by many friends as well as her beloved family: Husband, Larwill; sons and daughters-in-law, L. Scott and Adriene, Michael and Wende, Jason and Shannon; 7 cherished grandchildren, M'Lynne, Cade, L. Andrew, Justin, Calyne, Luke, and Abigail; and siblings Patty Suydam and Warren Powell. Services will be held on March 29 at 2pm at Best Funeral Services located at 9380 W. Peoria Ave, Peoria, AZ. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation in Carol's name to the ALS Association, www.alsaz.org, 360 E. Coronado, Suite 140, Phoenix, AZ 85004 602-297-3800.

Carol and I were friends since we were 5 years old. I have so many memories, ranging from giddy schoolgirls at St. John's to our later more serious hours long conversations. I will always remember her special smile and sense of humor. She was a wonderful friend, wife and mother and will be greatly missed. My thoughts and prayers are with her loving family at this sad time. Love you Carol, Beverly

I am so deeply saddened to hear of Carol's passing. I remember Carol from the Happy 'Ours days. Such a loving person, and wonderful friend who was so full of love for her family. Such a great example for us all in love and loyalty. I feel so truly blessed to have had the honor of knowing her and Willie and the boys in those days. Eternal rest grant unto her dear Lord, may Your perpetual light shine upon her, may her soul and the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God rest in peace.
