Catherine Creighton Obituary

Catherine Creighton passed peacefully away at the home of her daughter on the morning of December 20, 2003. Catherine was born in Oakes, North Dakota on Sept. 26, 1911, was
brought to Phoenix, with her twin sister Pauline, as an infant in 1913, grew up in Phoenix and graduated from Phoenix Union High School with the Class of 1929. As a young woman she lived in Oakland, San Francisco, New York City and Rio de Janeiro. She returned to Phoenix with her husband Robert in 1941 to live and raise her family. She was a member of the congregations of Trinity Cathedral, All Saints Episcopal Church (of which she was a founding member), and finally St. Stephen's Episcopal Church. She was one of the seven involved in the writing of "Listen the Lord - Instructions in Spiritual Awareness and Interior Prayer Given to Seven Who Hear", published in 1956. She leaves a legacy of patience, courage, humor and love to her family and many friends. She is survived by her daughter and her son, four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, December 30, at 10 a.m. at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, 2310 N. 56th Street in Phoenix. The family suggests donations to Hospice of the Valley.
