Chad Bartel Obituary
2005. Devoted to each other, their daughter, their families and their church, Chad and Laura left a lasting legacy of love. Chad Edwin Bartel was born November 8, 1971 in Washington State and moved to Ari-zona in 1977. After completing a 2 year mission in Munich, Germany for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Chad graduated from ASU with a degree in account-ing/CPA and was employed as a special agent for the Dept of the Treasury. Chad and Laura were married December 5, 1997 and were delighted to receive Kylie Nicole into their family on March 24, 2003. Chad and Laura are survived by their daughter, Kylie Nicole Bartel. Chad is also survived by his parents, Robert and Lana; brother, Brent and sister, Lori. Laura was born December 25, 1970 in Tucson, AZ. She served a mission in New York, New York North for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was preceded in death by her father, Melvin Jay Sappington. She is also survived by her mother, Carolyn Sappington; brothers, M. Ray and Derek J. Sappington and sisters, Barbie (Sappington) Marley and Kelli (Sappington) Castleton. Visitation will be held on Friday, March 25, 2005 from 6-8:00 P.M., Bunker's Garden Chapel, 33 N. Centennial Way, Mesa, AZ. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 26, 2005 at 10:00 A.M., LDS Cooper Ward, 1150 W. Elliot Rd. (between Cooper and McQueen Rds), Gilbert, AZ with visitation one-hour prior to services.

Your Mom and Dad loved you more than anything in this world. They still love you and will be always watching over you. Your Dad was a great brother, when he was little and would get in trouble, he would always run to me, because I would protect him! I miss your Mom and Dad very much. I'm going to miss Sundays together and your Dad playing the piano. I'll also miss playing games with them, you could never cheat with Chad and Laura, they would catch it everytime! Your Mom was a great person, who loved animals so much and had a great heart. She loved you tons!
Kylie you will grow up to be as beautiful as you Mom. Everytime I Look at you I see your Dad. I loved them both very much. I wish I would have told them and showed them a little more than I did. Your Dad was always Chadalina or Chadie(when we were young)to me. Kylie I love you more than words can say. I hope you won't get tired of it, but you and Mad, Kenz, and Cade are going to hear I Love you many times over the years.

I worked with Chad at Motorola at the 56th Street facility in Phoenix. I am so saddened by this news. He was a kind and generous person. Chad had a wonderful sense of humor and was a great person to work with. I thought a great deal of Chad. My thoughts and prayers go out to both familes.

Mrs. Sappington, I was so sorry when my mother called me to tell me she had read in the paper about Laura. I don't know if you remember me but we went all through school together. Even though we had lost touch with each other there is a void in my heart at hearing the about your loss. I am reliving so many memories of my times with Laura. Although I only worked with Chad in the Tempe office for less than one year, it was evident how devoted he was to helping others. He was a very kind person and was very devoted to his family. I met Laura at the baby shower for Kylie. She was a very loving mother. Although we don't know the reason for this tragedy, we know God has a purpose for everything. You will be greatly missed. Chad was a fierce competitor, a devoted father, a loving husband, a dedicated friend and a trustworthy law enforcement partner. Words can't even begin to express the sadness I felt when I received the news about Chad and Laura. I worked with Laura at Motorola, and I also knew Chad at that time. Both of them were so special. My heart goes out to each of you at this tragic time, and especially to little Kylie who has lost such loving parents. When I worked with Laura, she talked so much about wanting a family, and her fear of never having one. I'm so glad that they were blessed with Kylie and were able to enjoy the time they had with her.
