In the 1960's ( 61 - 65 at least ) Gospel Echoes church was located on the northwest corner of 26th Ave and Montebello Ave immediately east of Montebello Elementary School.
I recall weekly occurences of a different person collapsing onto the floor and speaking in tongues.

I still think about this man frequently. And GraceLifeFelliwship ( in the ElCid Castle)He put a value on my life and soul that I didn't believe existed at the time.Through the Love of God,he revealed the reality of the authority and POWER of the Spirit and the Word in a way that it completely transformed my life, and enabled me to bring that to others in similar dire situations..I'm 65 now.And to this man- I am so very very grateful.

My family moved to Phoenix in 1952, when I was about 7 years old. I remember going to Pastor McHatton's church in the early 50s. I think it was in the Ladies Club on Northern and near 19th or 27th Ave or that area, maybe on Orangewood. Then later at Camelback? I am not sure. I know that during Phoenix Jr. college I would listen to his teaching on the radio. Specifically how he spent a long time on Psalm 23. He was definitely a deep teacher! I still think of him and had to look him up on Google today. No one will probably ever see this but Lord you know how much he ministered to me and I thank you for Pastor McHatton! I'll see him very soon with my Agent Orange issues now. God is good! I am blessed! I see that I identify myself as a "Student" under his teaching.

My thoughts and prayers are with Glenda and the family. I remember Pastor McHatton as a five year old girl when my family went to his church on 27th Avenue and Camelback. Pastor McHatton will surely be missed by all of those who he touched over the years.

Glenda and family,
Pastor McHatton will always be "my" pastor. His teachings have always stuck with me through the years. I am so very thankful to the Lord for allowing me to attend Gospel Echoes for those years, and the richness of His Word that Pastor McHatton gave us. I can only rejoice that he is with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, rejoicing, dancing, and celebrating his heavenly entrance before the throne!!! He will be sorely missed among the body of Christ, but left a legacy to so many of God's healing power and touch through his teachings. God bless you all during this time.

When I lived in Orange County, Ca
I first heard Pastor McHatton speak, I think on TBN. I had no intention of ever living in Phoenix, yet one day when my husband came home and said, "We are being transferred to Phoenix.", my response was "Well, then I know where I will go to church." We did move here, and I brought my children to the church. My daughter was 15 then, and as we entered a sanctuary that was not beautiful, she said, "Oh, I can feel the Spirit here." Thus began our years of learning with Pastor McHatton and our new church family. Pastor was a wonderful teacher of the Word, and I know I speak for others saying that we were eternally touched by his teaching. The friends I made then are still close friends today. Rebecca A.
