My daughter, Rainey Weaver, introduced him as her friend, Mr. Nickelsen, and I took an immediate liking to him. We both had Navy careers in our resumes so shared many sea stories. I will remember him as an Officer and Gentleman. Friend Charley, rest your oars.

My daughter, Rainey Weaver introduced him as a friend, Mr. Nickelsen, but he was soon known to me as Charley. We both had a Navy career in our resumes and shared many sea stories. I was so sorry to learn of Charlie's passing. I will miss our occasional phone chats. He was a devoted husband and parent who always made me laugh with his quick wit. He was modest, bright and wise. Never had a mean, unkind word for anyone. My sympathy to Bill, Nancy and family. I pray he is reunited with his bride, Lucille and is at peace.

A wonderful man with a beautiful soul. Although I have not seen him in many years I have loving memories of Uncle Charlie from long ago.
