Charles Verbarg Obituary
74, passed away on August 27, 2015. Dear Dad of Aaron (Melanie) Verbarg; dear Grandpa of Elle, Joshua, Luke and Jackson Verbarg; dear brother of Beverly (late Ralph) Abel and Robert (Francine) Verbarg; and by former wife, Jean Verbarg. Our dear uncle, great uncle, cousin and friend of many. A native of San Francisco, CA, and a graduate of Lincoln High School.Dick attended Biola Univ. in Orange, CA, and was an Army veteran serving in Europe. He retired from the Huntington Hotel (SF) in 2009 as a Doorman. Dick's faith in the Lord Jesus Christ was important to him and he attended church in San Francisco and in Phoenix at the North Mountain Church and Open Door Fellowship, and was an active member in the morning bible study groups. He will be missed by his McDonald's coffee group. Visitation 9:00 AM Wed. Sept. 2, 2015 at Green Acres Mortuary, 401 N. Hayden Rd, Scottsdale, AZ., where services will be held at 10:00 AM. Interment will be privately held. www.greenacresmortuary.net

I remember first meeting Dick at the Santa Cruz Bible Conference, he was a real encouragement to me. My wife Edna and I were away on a six week trip visiting the Lord's people in Eastern US and Canada when we heard that Dick was very ill. I was hoping to be back in time to have a visit with him but the Lord had other plans. As for God His way is perfect. What will it be to experience the fullness of joy, Dick knows now and the rest of the Lord's people will know in a soon coming Day.
What will it be to dwell above and with the Lord of glory reign?
Keep looking up. Keep going on. The Lord is coming soon.

Dick can shoot those three point shots and never miss now!! :) I remember playing sports with Dick, enjoying his preaching and his mentorship. His days in California were some of my favorites.

Dick was always full of life. He would come into his sons office & tell us about his grandchildren- what they were doing in their lives or tell us how he & Aaron had gone golfing that weekend or about his McDonald's family. He was such a happy person. Rest in peace you will be missed

At last, Dick will have the answer to "how many were in the boat?" We loved to kid and laugh with Dick, didn't we? We all have our faults, and this was man who let us in to see his. Still, he was a joy to be around. I will miss him.

I haven't thought of Dick in 20 years and I woke up this morning wanting to google his name and saw that he had just passed. He was always nice to me when I first moved to SF. I'll never forget his enthusiasm in playing hearts and love of the Giants.

I can't wait to get to spend time with my brother in Glory. I wonder if he has had his "When I Get To Heaven" questions answered, or if he is too busy enjoying his new home to bother asking them...
