Christopher Garcia Obituary
age 18, of Waddell, Arizona, passed from our lives in a sudden and tragic automobile accident on August 28, 2009. Christopher was a student of Millennium High School and was an avid outdoorsman and cowboy. He is survived by his father, Michael Garcia, mother, Tammy Garcia, brothers, Scott McClain and Nicholas Hampton, sisters, Amanda and Danielle Garcia, nephews, Cole, Landon and Max and niece, Taylor, his grandparents, Pat Garcia, Julie Pollard, and Bob Cox along with many aunts, uncles, cousins and wonderful friends too numerous to name. Christopher was preceded in death by his grandfather, Richard (Tata) Garcia and his Aunt Kathy Garcia. Please join his family and friends in a Celebration of Christopher's life from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, at Menke Funeral Home, 12420 N. 103rd Avenue, Sun City, AZ, on Thursday, September 3, 2009. Services will be held at 11:00 AM at St. Clare of Assissi Catholic Church, 17111 W. Bell Rd, Surprise, AZ, on Friday, September 4, 2009.

Years later and I still cannot find the words to adequately describe my feelings. 5 long years and yet it feels like only yesterday you were sitting in my kitchen teaching me to play cards (of which I'm still terrible at...). I have talked to you often since you left us (all too soon) and have stumbled around trying to explain those feelings, and if you didn't understand them from our last conversation just 5 years ago, I hope you do now and know that it comes from the most true, and loving place in my heart. I'm thankful that we got the chance to have that talk. I hoped and prayed for that opportunity years before it finally took place. My memories with/of you are my most cherished ones, and they always have been. I imagine there are only a few memories I may encounter in my life that will measure up to them. I keep them safe and close to my heart and revisit them almost daily. My family also still thinks about you and asks about your family, and I am so happy that I have been able to keep in touch with them. We have kept you all in our thoughts and prayers. I didn't know that this guest book existed, or I would have written a long time ago. I remember you for your heart, which was truly one of a kind. I still smile just at the thought of seeing you smile; it was more contagious than you could ever realize. While you carried all the characteristics that a good, tough cowboy should; you had a genuine, kind, caring soul that set you apart from everyone else. You couldn't hide that even if you tried. I am a better person just from having known you. I have missed you every day, with every fiber of my being- in ALL chapters of my life since then. You have touched my heart beyond description, and that is something that will never go away and I know that it will never be replaced. I know this because I have felt this way for almost 10 years now and not once have I felt any signs of that changing (even if only myself and a few girlfriends knew that all along). I loved you once, I love you still. Always have, always will. I will wait patiently until God calls me home and I get to see you again, but it is a day that will simply not come soon enough. Until then...

Not a day goes by that we do not think of your beautiful son and that smile. We are so thankful for all of the times our families were together camping, hunting, Christmas Tree cutting, Christmas, birthdays and generally being together. I am so very sorry. chris was a very good friend to me. i regret not getting to know him more than I did. We will all miss him and he will be in our hearts forever and so will everyone who knew him. I am so sorry about your loss. Chris was a good friend of mine. I have known him since 3rd grade. Growing up with him had been quite an experience, he deffenitively was someone who could always make me smile even after being upset from a game i had lost the day before. Chris definitively grew into a fine young man, and anyone who knew him was very lucky. I still havent been able to grasp the loss of Chris and i dont think i ever will. But i just know that he is in a better place and that he is watching over us now. I just want your family to know that you will be in my prayers along with Chris. Mike and Tammy...My heart aches for you over the loss of Christopher. I can't even imagine the pain and grief you are going through. There are no words that anyone can say that will ease your pain or fill the emptiness in your heart. Keeping memories of Christopher alive will bring laughter, smiles, and sometimes tears. His presence and spirit will live on in your hearts through these memories. Psalms 116:15 says "The Lord cares deeply when his loved ones die". Isaiah 57:1-2 the Lord says "Good people pass away; the godly often die before there time. But no one seems to care or wonder why. No one seems to understand that God is protecting them from evil to come. For those who follow godly paths will rest in peace when they die." I no you will greatly miss his presence, but remember that one day we will all meet our loved ones again in heaven. Just image it...There will be family reunions taking place all over in Heaven. That will be an awesome time.

Your North Carolina family are all in mourning over the loss of Christopher. It is not even possible for us to imagine the pain you all are in. Mike & Tami, It has been 9 1/2 years since we lost our 20 yr. old son. It seems that there are never any words to help the pain of it all right now, but if later, you can hear some of the supportive, helpful, things that are back in your memory bank and completely know that Christopher is watching over all of you and he is with you everywhere, I think then, you will begin to see a light at the end of this horrible tunnel. I think Christopher would want you to keep your daughter and grandson in mind so you can somehow move forward each day, even if it is the smallest move forward each day.
