Connie Chavez Obituary
89, of Phoenix, Arizona, went home to be with the Lord, surrounded by her loved ones, on Sunday, September 15th, 2013. Connie was preceded in death by her son, Arnulfo Mesa, Jr. and her grandson, Memo Baca. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother and friend. Connie delighted in her family - first and foremost. She had a passion for gardening and crafts, and never missed an opportunity to enjoy herself at the casinos. She will be forever loved, her memories - forever cherished, and greatly missed by all who were blessed to know her. Connie is survived by her children, Gilbert Torrez (Mary Lou) Mesa, Angie Mesa (Bill) Baca, Danny Mesa, Rudy (Dora) Mesa, Richard T. (Laura) Mesa, and Doreen Mesa O'Malley; her brother, Louis Torrez; 16 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren, and many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. The Visitation will be from 8:00-10:00 AM, with a Rosary beginning at 8:30 AM, Monday, September 23rd, 2013, at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 6200 South Central Avenue, Phoenix, Arizona. The Funeral Mass will immediately follow, beginning at 10:00 AM, at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church. Burial to follow at St. Francis Catholic Cemetery, 2033 North 48th Street, Phoenix, Arizona. Arrangements entrusted to Lowmans Arizona Funeral Home, Inc., (602) 276-3601.

Doreen: Loved your mom. I will never forget the time me, you and your mom were making tamales and your mom insisted the green olives (with the pit inside them) had to be put in the tamales. We had so much fun that day. Time will heal the loss. Love ya.

There is no rhyme or reason for the way life happens, it just does. But one thing you can always count on, when you have the need for your mothers comfort and love, she will always be there. That is a legacy that continues and you can count on through the good times and the bad times. I am sorry first cousins, for the physical loss of my tia, and although many of us have been through a loved ones loss and it does not ease the pain and it does not make it easier. Draw on the memories for strength, because she is always with you in spirit. God Bless You All. Lots of Love, from your cousin Rosa.
