Daniel Phelan Obituary
passed away after a short illness on February 12, 2010 at Hospice of the Valley. He was born in Bronx, NY on March 14, 1943. He moved to Wharton, NJ where he attended grammar and high school. Dan was a Vietnam Veteran serving in the US Army. He moved to Phoenix, AZ upon his return from Vietnam and retired in 2002 from the City of Phoenix as a tree trimmer. Dan is survived by his daughter, Anita Phelan of Tempe, AZ , 3 sons, Sean Phelan (Windy) of Mesa, AZ, Robin John Parke (Maria) of Wittman, AZ and Ricky Parke of San Juan Capistrano, CA, a brother David (Helen) of Wharton, NJ, sisters, Faith Harder (Andrew) of Bartonsville, PA, Anita Katzenstein (Jerry) of Wharton, NJ and 4 grandchildren, Sean, Halie and Taylor Phelan and Hallie Parke. He was preceded in death by his parents Stewart Sr. and Kathleen (Smith) of NJ and a brother Stewart Jr. of AZ. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Thurs. Feb 18 at the Unity of Phoenix, 1500 S. E. Greenway Pkwy, Phoenix. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E. Flower St. Phoenix, AZ 85014. Bueler Mortuary.

Danny, your heart of gold and forthright honesty toward all you knew will be missed. You were my 'best man' in that little, Lake Telemark, church in 1966, and you're still my number one buddy. Sweet dreams.

My deepest sympathy on the loss of your father. His family lived near mine in the St. Mary area of Wharton and he was a good friend of my brother Andre'. I know he was happy to be in recent contact with your Dad.
