So sad to find the online obituary of my good friend David. We worked together 30 years ago in Moose, Wyoming, camped and fished together. He came to Tennessee and visited me in the early 90s and I saw him a couple more times when visiting out west. I tried to find him for several years and couldn“t locate him. We had some great times together and I remember the times vividly.
David was a brilliant man with a big heart. He always spoke of his family, particular his parents. When someone would suggest he cut his hair, he would always reply that his mother would be upset with him. He loved his mother.
I know his family misses him and I will too. I have many good photos of him and would be happy to share with family.
Much love and sympathy, Sam Sallee 931-261-8777

Anyone who knew David knew what an avid reader he was. David was so well read it would make your head spin. He advocated educating yourself through reading. I worked and played with David at Jackson Lake Lodge in 1985. David also had a great sense of humor. I later came up to Wyoming from San Diego and gave David a visit at some resort/lodge. When I told him that I lived in San Diego he replied, "I'm sorry."
Today, I sensed that I needed to do an internet search and his obituary came up. This is a sad day for me.

I stayed/worked a summer at Cowboy Village at Togwotee while in college during 1998 or 1999. It was a resort near the Teton lookout point in Wyoming and David was a chef there. During that summer he truly become a close friend and mentor and we communicated by letters for the next couple of years. With time the letters stopped and I could no longer find his address. For some reason today I felt compelled to search for him and found this. Please know he acted as a father figure and the greatest of friends to me during a time when I was freshly home from the army and finding myself. Rarely a day goes by I am so sad I couldn't find him sooner. I have so many great memories and stories of him we shared that summer. if you would like to hear some feel free to reach out to me at abracad006 at gmail

My condolences to the family. Our loved ones are so precious to us. It's comforting to remember that they are even more precious to God. John 3:16.
