DeLorre Salem Haddad

DeLorre Salem Haddad passed away March 26, 2007 in Scottsdale, AZ. He
was born January 22, 1935 to the late Tofy Haddad and Sumia Rahal Haddad John in Canton, OH Dr. Haddad was reared in Canton and attended Cedar Grade School and Lincoln High School. He completed his undergraduate studies at Kent State University and was a member of Delta Upsilon Fraternity. Post graduate studies in Dental and Orthodontic School were completed at The Ohio State University. His accomplishes are numerous, to name a few: 1960-62 Captain in United States Air Force at McConnell AFB; 1962-66 Dental Practice in Brunswick, OH; 1968-87 Orthodontic Practice in Medina, OH; 1972 YMCA Board of Trustees; 1973-1974 Ladies Professional Golf Tournament Chairman at Weymouth Country Club in Medina; 1973 President of Medina Chamber of Commerce and co-founder of Art in the Park of Medina and Co-Founder of Medina Ohio State Alumni Association; 1979 President of Medina County Heart Association and Inspiration for the building of the Medical Centers adjacent to the Medina General Hospital; 1981-89 Orthodontic Teaching Staff at Case Western Reserve University; 1987 General Chairman, Great Lakes Society of Orthodontists Meeting in Pittsburgh, Pa. Theme of auxiliary and doctor behavioral development, team involvement in practice development; 1980 Inspiration and Developer of the Commercial and Residential Development of The Reserve and The Timbers, Reserve Park One, Reserve Park East, Eastpointe and the Inspiration and Founder of Medina County Performing Arts Foundation; 2002 Performed "Love Letters" with Lily Jean for the benefit of Sunshine Acres Children's Home; and 2003 Chairman for Rally of a Cure Golf Tournament at Tonto Verde Golf Community of Arizona for the benefit of Breast Cancer Research. Inspiration, Influence and Legacy were his Hallmark! This was a lifetime of dedication to family, community and the individual advancement for all who were willing to do the Work and to Heed the call to Greater Service. Orthodontics was the labor of love for him. The Reserve Complex was a joy to him in its beauty and power as a legacy. Medina County Performing Acts Foundation (MCPAF) is his offering to the greater community to know its creative nature and to learn the inner workings in each of us. In later years living in Arizona, he took his creative self work into his home workshop and shared his objects of 'art and usefulness' in his new community of Tonto Verde. Usefulness was a hallmark of his influence and certainly as an outpouring that led to his legacies. The Good Lord will greet him with Open Arms and gratitude for a life fully lived and shared. He is survived by his wife, Lily Jean Baker Haddad; his children, Ellen Haddad Stevenson (Thomas W.) of Medina and David DeLorre Haddad (Judy) of Phoenix, AZ; his sister Vivian Haddad Franklin of Akron, OH; his grandchildren Jason T. and Sam B. Stevenson of Medina and Molly DeLorre Haddad of Phoenix and her two brothers, Adam and Jim Johnston; his mother-in-law Effie M. Roshon of Medina and many loving cousins, aunts, uncles, friends and living memories. Besides his parents, Dr. Haddad was preceded in death by his sister Deanna Haddad Archer. visitation will be on Thursday from 5:00pm-8:00 pm Waite and Son Funeral Home and Friday from Noon-2:00pm and 4-6:00pm at Waite's with a Celebration of Life Memorial Service immediately following at 6:30pm in Broadway Street Hall in Medina at the Medina County Administration Building on 144 N. Broadway Street. Mass of Christian Burial, 10:30 am Saturday at St. George Antioch Orthodox Church, 3204 Ridgewood Rd., Akron, OH. Private family burial services will be held at Spring Grove Cemetery in Medina. (In lieu of flowers) Contributions may be made to Medina County Performing Arts Foundation (MCPAF) 222 S.
