E. Moore Obituary

Moore, E. Pauline
82, of Goodyear AZ went to be with the Lord on August 6, 2010 at Cook Health Center, Youngtown. She was born March 19, 1928 in Dawn, MO, to Roscoe & Lena (Wigfield) Burchett. She was the 4th of 5 siblings & partially raised by her maternal grandparents due to her mother's illness. She loved God, family & ministering to all who came into contact with her. She met her soul mate, Charles Granville Moore, at church and eloped with him on May 3, 1946 when he returned home from World War II. She taught in a one-room schoolhouse before becoming a full-time mother & homemaker. She founded & served as an interpreter for the deaf ministry at First Baptist Church in Oak Grove, MO before retiring to Phoenix in 1991. Mom suffered through many illnesses in her life & we were amazed at her unfailing faith and strength. Mom & Dad shared nearly 51 years together before he passed in March 1997. She knew they would be reunited some day & we are sure Dad welcomed her to heaven where he used to say she was the prettiest thing this side of it! She was quite the cook--fried chicken, iced sugar cookies, popcorn balls, & her famous brownies which she shared with the Phoenix firefighters, police & ER staff who tried to save Dad's life. They were loving examples of Christian parents to their 5 children, all of whom survive her. Stephen (Laura) Moore, Fort Smith, AR; Sue (Ray) Flucke, Goodyear, AZ; Peggy (Dave) Tucker, Kansas City, MO; Chuck Moore, Phoenix, AZ; & Paula Hamilton, Independence, MO. Pauline also reveled in her 11 grandchildren, Joshua (Michelle) Moore, April (Bobby) Moore Steeps, Christina Moore, Toni Flucke Patterson, Anitra (Cody) Flucke Morin, Jeralyn Wilson Bonavia, Joni Wilson, Angie Moore, Dylan Moore, Ben Cheney, Desiree Cheney & 5 great-grandchildren, Kayla, Garrett, Andrew, Ava & Ethan. She also leaves a brother, William Burchett of KS & brother-in-law, Robert Duckworth of KS, many nieces, nephews & "adopted" children. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, C.G., her parents, brother, Charles Burchett, & sisters, Grace Duckworth & Wanda Franke. Visitation will be on Saturday, August 28, 2010, 10:00 AM, at Thompson's Valley West Funeral Chapel, 926 S. Litchfield Rd., Goodyear, AZ, with a memorial service at 11:00 AM. In celebration of her life, Pauline asked that festive colors (no black!) be worn. A memorial service will also be held 11:30 AM on September 4, 2010 at First Baptist Church, 1601 Bryan Street, Chillicothe, Missouri with final interment in Mount Pleasant Cemetery near Chillicothe. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Country Baptist Church Building Fund, 12844 W. Santa Fe Dr., Surprise, AZ 85374.
