Edward Matloub Obituary

Matloub, Edward
Edward Matloub, 32, died suddenly and unexpectedly on Saturday, February 7, 2016. Edward was beloved by his family and the many friends he had around the world. Ed suffered a life-threatening illness at the age of 10 months but his irrepressible soul would burn bright in the world for another 31 years until it could longer be contained and a new adventure embarked. Edward was born on March 23rd, 1983 in London, England. He graduated from St. Francis de Sales H.S. in Toledo, Ohio in 2001 and from Beloit College in Wisconsin in 2005 with dual degrees in Economics and History. Edward worked at Charles Schwab and then completed his MBA at the Thunderbird School of Global Management in 2013. Edward very much enjoyed his travels to China and the many friendships he built around the world. As a global entrepreneur he developed meaningful and successful enterprises in the areas of global consulting, manufacturing, and automotive trade. As a driven and passionate professional, Ed could comprehend and articulate the real issues of a problem and move the discourse to a higher level whether he was speaking at a lunch appointment or a board meeting. As a sought-after consultant, Ed assisted numerous businesses and professionals to innovate and grow beyond their current levels of expectation. Ed never settled for the status quo. Ed was humble and sought out mentors from different areas related to his goals as he learned to become more. He would go on to mentor many others through his life and accomplishments. Ed loved to laugh and create laughter with others. He was very fond of all things satirical, smartly comedic, and ironic. Ed loved shows like the Simpsons and the writings of Mark Twain. Ed loved to play practical jokes on his friends especially his business partner Zhongni whom he loved dearly. Ed devoured history books, philosophy, biographies, and scientific journals with a burning curiosity about life and learning. Ed was totally here and totally himself. He lived life in a hurry as though driven by a passion from within. Ed enjoyed people from all around the world with very diverse backgrounds, and he had passion for them. He rarely spoke of the many lives with which he was intensely involved out of a very authentic natural sense of care, kindness, and generosity. Ed truly loved others and wanted to help them improve their lives, succeed in their dreams, or heal themselves from difficult situations. If you knew Ed you knew he would do anything to help you. Ed deeply loved his family. They enjoyed taking trips together, holidays, skiing, and much more. Ed's family deeply cherishes all the experiences they had with their wonderful and loving son, brother, nephew, and cousin and yearn for more while appreciating the gifts his life brought to them. They will carry him in their hearts forever and will be forever changed by his special soul. In lieu of flowers the family is asking that donations be made to a scholarship fund in Edward's name.
