Eileen Stephan Obituary
passed away May 25, 2014 after a 6 year battle with cancer. She was born November 7, 1934 at St. Mary's Hospital, Madison, WI to Lyle H Hill and Mary Josephine (Nienaber) Hill. She went to Edgewood grade school, graduated from Verona High School in 1952 and from the University of WI in 1956. On December 29, 1956, she married Thomas Reid Stephan at Our Lady Queen of Peace in Madison, WI. Surviving her are her husband Thomas of Scottsdale, Arizona, sons; Thomas Reid Stephan Jr. of Brooklyn Park, MN, Timothy James (Lauren) Stephan of Williamsburg, VA and daughter Lucinda Stephan (Thomas) Pastula of St. Johns, MI. Sisters; Virginia (Jim) Holmes of Longmont, CO, Mary Louise (Jim) Klahr of Madison, WI and Harriet (Ron) Ghering of Lodi, WI. Also, brother Jeffrey (Sharon) Hill of Woodstock, IL and brother-in-law R. Gilbert Stephan of Sun City, AZ. Also surviving her is her stepbrother Bob (Angie) Tramburg of Madison, WI. and stepsister Gigi (Al) Nolan of Florida. She will be missed by grandchildren Jennifer Lynn Stephan, Laura Kaityln Pastula, David Bartholomew Pastula, Alyssa Jade Stephan, Kristina Grace Stephan and Lincoln James Bolitho. She is also survived by numerous cousins, nephews, nieces, grand nephews and grandnieces. She is preceded in death by her grandparents, parents Lyle and Mary, also brother-in-law Mike Wegher, sister-in-law Cyrilla Stephan, and nephew Steven Holmes. Eileen loved bridge, including duplicate, refunding and trips to Vegas and Laughlin. She worked for Bill Murphy at Banker's Life in Madison, for her father at Vita Plus and as a secretary at St. Paul's School, St. Cloud, MN . She orchestrated 13 moves of households in her lifetime. Services and burial will be in Madison, Wisconsin. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E. Flower St., Phoenix, AZ 85014 602.530.6992 and the American Cancer Society. A wonderful cook, beautiful seamstress, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, cousin and friend, she will be missed.
