Elizabeth Handel Obituary

Elizabeth Ann Handel of Scottsdale, Arizona was called home to the Lord June 27, 2005. She was born in Joliet, Illinois on January 30, 1923. She received her Bachelors degree in Nursing from Loyola University and her Masters from Northern Illinois University. Her amazing nursing career spanned 50 years. She entered the Army Nurse Corp in 1945 and was a Nursing Instructor at St. Josephs Hospital in Joliet for 35 years. She moved to Clarkdale, Arizona in 1989 and continued her teaching career at Yavapai Community College. She devoted her life to God and helping others by volunteering with many organizations. She was a loving mother of eight children of which three, Theodore, Edward & Margaret, preceded her in death. She is survived by her sons William (Karolee) of Morris, IL, Stephen of Tempe, AZ, Robert of Clarkdale, AZ and daughters Therese Barrowman (Richard) of New Lenox, IL and Ann Jordan (Brian) of Tempe, AZ. Her numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews & many friends will miss her dearly. Visitation will be at 2:00 PM on Friday, July 1, 2005 at St. Daniel the Prophet Church at 1030 N. Hayden Rd. Scottsdale, AZ. The Rosary will be held at 2:30 PM followed by the funeral service at 3 PM. She will be laid to rest with her husband George F. Handel at Green Acres Memorial Gardens Scottsdale, AZ.
