Aepli, Emmett Clark "Bud"

Bud, a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and lifelong resident of Tempe was born April 28, 1928 to Paul Benjamin and Wilma Mae (Adams) Aepli one of Tempe's pioneer families along with his sisters are Betty Jane (Rundle) and Mary Louise (Owens). "Papa", as he was affectionately known is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Helen (Duncan), daughters Kathleen (Craig), Staci (Bill), Stephanie, sons Emmett Jr (Brenda), and Duncan (Carrie) and ten grand and great-grandchildren. He started his career working for his father in what was then the small farming community of Gilbert, at Gilbert Feed and Seed before launching out on his own as a whole sale distributor for Standard Oil Company of California. As a proud member of Arizona National Guard from 1948, he rose through the ranks, eventually serving full time in the Guard as the state's Director of Facilities where he retired in 1988 with the rank of Brigadier General. He and Helen greatly enjoyed their involvement in the National Guard Association. He was a member of the 1945 Uof A Wildcat football team and later transferred to Arizona State University. Throughout his life he was a loyal supporter of ASU's sport teams and the Phoenix Suns. Papa was an amazing man who lived a full and happy life and will be forever remembered by his family. My condolence for you loss. God understands fully the sorrows and damages of death. He assures us at 1 Corinthians 15:26 he will do away with it forever. What a blessing to look forward to.
