Eugene Zehring Obituary
Mesa - Eugene (Gene) Zehring Sr., formerly of Mishawaka Ind., passed away at 90 years of age peacefully in Mesa, AZ on May 27th. He was born to parents Earl and Louise Zehring of Mishawaka Ind. He has two siblings Robert Zehring (Deceased) and Mary Ann Kalka in Osceola Ind.
Gene was a graduate of Mishawaka High School (1948) where he met the love of his life Diana (Rogers) Zehring. They were married on September 9th 1950 and enjoyed over 70 years of marriage. Together they have 8 sons and daughters-in-law, 24 grandchildren, 54 great grandchildren and 3 foster grandchildren.
Gene was a noted professional photographer most of his working career. He did weddings and senior pictures for many high schools. His real passion was nature photography. Some of his work was published in different magazines. As a pilot he also enjoyed taking arial pictures. His wife was always by his side helping him with the weddings and running the studio in Mishawaka.
Gene was a devoted Christian that loved to read and study his Bible. He taught Sunday School for many years and led life group studies in homes. He was a student of prophesy and enjoyed reading the book of Revelation and preparing others for the second coming of Jesus. He had a real heart for Jewish ministries and wrote about how to evangelize them.
While the family mourns his loss, we take great comfort in knowing he is with God and we will see him again. We want to thank Hospice of the Valley for the great care and attention they gave him to the very end. In lieu of flowers perhaps you would consider a donation to Hospice of the Valley located at 2525 E. Southern Rd. Tempe AZ 85282.
Gene and Diana are members of Grace Church located at 8701 E. Brown Rd. Mesa AZ 85207. A memorial service is in the works for Saturday June 19th at 2 pm. and will be held at Grace Church. Open House will follow in the fellowship hall at Los Palmas del Sol located at 6209 E McKellips Rd, Mesa, AZ 85215. If you have questions call Thom Zehring at (602) 510-2048.

Mr. Zehring was a terrific photographer and a nice man. He was the photographer for our wedding in 1972. They lived near my sister when they lived in Mishawaka and his boys were always fun. My condolences and prayers to the family.

Diane and family,
My deepest sympathy on your loss of husband and father. I remember Gene from Mishawaka High School and graduation in 1948. And also his photography studio. Wonderful memories of the days in Mishawaka.
