Frances Steele Obituary

Frances E. Steele (Nee: "Cookie" Cook), 91, of Chandler, AZ passed away January 28, 2007. Born in Racine, WI and graduated from St. Catherine's High School. After graduation she worked at the Tannery and later became a "Rosie the Riveter". Career wise she became a pediatric nurse where she took her training at St. Vincent's Hospital in Chicago, IL. On class breaks she met her husband E. Donley and they married four months later at St. Patrick's Church in Racine. Frances is survived by her seven children. Brian (late Mary) Downingtown, PA, Judy & Caroline Steele Chandler, AZ, Paul (Debi) Prescott, AZ, Joel (Heidi) Tempe, AZ. Jon (Kristy) Altoona, IA, and Peter (Sherrie) Chandler, AZ. Frances is also survived by her 19 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, 23 foster babies and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held at the Church of The Resurrection, 3201 S. Evergreen, Tempe, AZ. Viewing from 9:30 - 11:00 am Saturday February 3, 2007 followed by a funeral Mass with burial at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Mesa AZ.
