Simmons, Gilbert J. "Gil"
74, of Surprise, AZ passed away on April 6, 2011. Gil passed away on April 6th surrounded by his family. Born November 21, 1936 Hebron,NE. to Jeanette and Arnold Dunse. He married Barbara Brokaw in Great Bend KS July 22, 1956. They moved to AZ in 1957. He was an Army Veteran. He loved people and never met a stranger. He is survived by his wife, son Mark (Lisa), daughter Susan (Dave), 4 grandchildren, brothers Steve and Arnold Jr. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Herb and Doug. Celebration of Gil's life will be held at Foothills Christian Church at 1030am, 3951 W. Happy Valley Rd., Glendale. Interment will be at Veterans Memorial at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to Best Funeral Home, Peoria. Memorial contributions may be made to Foothills Christian Church, 3951 W. Happy Valley Rd., Glendale, Az, 85310

Barbara, we are so sorry for your loss. We know Gil was sick for quite a while and know he is not suffering anymore.

We just heard about Gil's passing today and are so sorry we didn't respond sooner. Please know our prayers go out to you, Barbara and your family. Gil no longer suffers and is in perfect peace now, singing bass in a heavenly choir!
