Grace Medlock Obituary

Grace Burnam Medlock, At her home with several family members by her side, Grace Burnam Medlock journeyed on from this life to be with her Lord on Sunday, February 9, 2003. Born in Tempe to Denzil and Myrtle Ann Burnam on March 14, 1920, Mrs. Medlock lived most of her life in Superior. She married Ray Medlock on December 26, 1938 and then graduated from Superior High School in 1939. Mrs. Medlock was very active in her community. As a life-long member of the Community of Superior Presbyterian Church, she served her Lord as a Sunday school teacher and as church treasurer. Mrs. Medlock was also active in Eastern Star and a past Grand Officer. She was the founder of the Grace Assembly #35 Arizona Rainbow Girls, named in her honor. She was a member of the White Mountain Chapter #8, Order of Eastern Star. In addition to her community work, Mrs. Medlock enjoyed a variety of hobbies. She enjoyed reading, craftwork, bird watching and outdoor activities including gardening, hunting and fishing. Mrs. Medlock will be remembered for her dedication to her family and her passion for life. She is survived by her husband, Ray Medlock, three children Paul (Susan) Medlock of Superior, Rae Ellen (Jim) Dunn of San Leon, Texas, and Rustin (Cherish) Medlock of Coolidge, two grandchildren Michael (Karla) Medlock of Surprise, and Jennifer (Joe) Urquijo of Superior and five great-grandchildren, Christin Daniele, Korteney Elizabeth, Trevor Layvelle Medlock, Justenne Grayce and Leia Michelle Medlock. Preceding Mrs. Medlock in death is her mother and father Denzil and Myrtle Ann Burnam, two sisters Glenn Bush and Gertrude Donnadieu and brother Carl Burnam. Memorial services are 11 a.m., Wednesday, February 12 at the Superior Presbyterian Church, 100 N. Magma Avenue with graveside services at Fairview Cemetery in Superior afterwards. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Superior Presbyterian Church.
