Smith, Hazel Emogene
87, of Phoenix, AZ entered into rest on May 7, 2010 after a short fight with leukemia. Hazel has enjoyed her life traveling the world and making new friends wherever she went. She lived the last several years at The Stratford Assisted Living facility in Phoenix developing friendships with other residents and members of the staff. She was known and loved for her sense of humor and her pleasant outlook on life. Born in Phoenix, she graduated from Phoenix Union High School, then spent a career as a loving mother and homemaker, a bookkeeper for a local cotton gin, and an active participant in the foundation and growth of Pinnacle Presbyterian Church in Scottsdale. Her death was preceded by those of her father Leslie Janeway, her mother Lula Hassett and her husband Larry Smith. She is survived by her sister Edna Fitzgerald, sons Bob and Mark Crigler, step-son Mike Smith, grandchildren Becky Arcadi, Tina, Cindy and Christy Crigler, Chris Smith, Carolyn Reidberger & 8 great grandchildren. Memorial services will be held at Pinnacle Presbyterian Church 25150 N. Pima Rd, Scottsdale on Saturday, May 15 at 11:00am.
